Lions for Lambs

In the movie"Lions for Lambs," Robert Redford plays the role of a college professor who meets with his student, Todd. The professor encourages Todd because he sees potential in him. He sees that Todd has something to offer the world.

The professor explains to Todd that he once had two students who he felt the same way about. They had potential. But they went to fight in the army. In the professor's opinion, this was not the wisest choice for their future. At the end of the movie, these two men die while fighting in the war.

So what? If we don't live our lives to our full potential, we'll die? No, I don't think that's the point. These two men did something important with their lives, and that's what matters. I think the professor learned this later. And that's what he was trying to pass on to Todd.

We can have all the potential in the world. We can even do something great with that potential. But is what we're doing important? Is it going to make a difference?
